Well, this is brilliantly drawn as always, but I can't help but feel that this gijinka could look a little more like blastoise. For a tank-built pokemon, she might have played better as being a bit larger in physique, like ivysaur perhaps. I've always admired your subtlety, and it's kind of neat how blastoise's small head is kept in without her being blatantly brawny, but it still is hard to recognize the pokemon. Maybe she needs more brown on her, as while I found the shells a little confusing on the unevolved forms, something seems kind of missing without a carapace reference on this one. As much as I dislike bizarre ears, next to wartortle, the appearance of conical ear-shapes as you brilliantly executed on bulbasaur and its kin wouldn't have looked particularly out of place. Or maybe she would more effectively read as blastoise if only her pants were more suited to the inspiring pokemon; this gijinka has very little by way of upper-wear, so the pants are more important in matching the pokemon's colour scheme than a pokemon like charmander might, as he's got a big orange and yellow shirt and jacket making him look like charmander.
I'm really sorry if I was in any way hurtful, and it's not to say this isn't fan-fricking-tabulous, as I've yet to see a piece by you that isn't, I just hope to make suggestions that may be constructive. I really adore your entire gallery, and you are an absolutely brilliant artist. I really like all you do in your artwork.
